Wedding Professionals for Marriage Equality

SCROLL DOWN

Wedding Professionals for Marriage Equality

It's here: A new standard for gay weddings.

Equalove is a small, local community of experienced Orlando and Tampa area wedding professionals who actively support marriage equality and gay weddings in Florida. Our goal is to grow as slowly as necessary in order to maintain our standards of quality and commitment to same-sex weddings and the LGBTQ community at large.

Our participating wedding professionals are a curated, hand-selected listing of professional bands + musicians, cake bakers, caterers, DJs, event designers, hair + makeup artists, invitation specialists, limo services, officiants, photographers, planners, venues, and videographers who take pride in their craft and have demonstrated the highest level of quality in their products and services and who have promised to maintain these strict standards for gay weddings.

. . . if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well.
— President Barack Obama, 2013

Our Mission

Our Mission

Quality Connections.

Equalove was started in order to connect established and well-respected wedding professionals with LGBT couples searching for top-quality wedding vendors who want to work with them to make their wedding day as beautiful and memorable as possible. In order to maintain our own high level of quality, we are:

  • starting small: starting with only two vendors per category
  • growing slowly: only adding vendors when the time is right
  • beginning locally: starting with Orlando and Tampa vendors
  • choosing wisely: vendors have to be referred by members and cannot buy their way onto our website
  • partnering smartly: the Gay Wedding Institute, TIGLFF, and a stellar advisory panel

Our Standards

Our Standards

Can't buy me love.

A wedding professional cannot buy their way into our group. To be considered for an Equalove membership, our vendors must strictly adhere to these five standards:

  1. They must be an established professional in their respective field.
  2. They must hold themselves to the highest standards of quality in their products and/or services.
  3. They must have a demonstrated history of working with same-sex couples in the past and/or a strong desire to do so in the future.
  4. They must have inclusive websites, forms, and marketing materials with neutral language to make all couples feel welcome.
  5. They must become a Gay Wedding Institute-certified wedding vendor within one year of becoming a member.
